This year we will be recognizing outstanding students that exemplify the qualities that we want a graduate of our school to possess. With the help of our amazing Advisory Committee members from each of our programs, we have set forth these qualities that we call our Portrait of a Graduate.
We are proud to announce our January Sending School Portrait of a Graduate student is Akili Sloan from Humansville R-IV School District ! Akili is a junior enrolled in the Graphic Design program and was nominated for her excellent service skills.
Her nomination reads:
"This young lady will do great things. She is talented and helps other students catch up when falling behind even at the detriment to her own projects. She is working on her communication skills as she has always been a very quiet student and was overlooked in her abilities because of this. We have set a goal for her to have a voice and interject as needed with ideas or opinions. I would love to have 10 more just like her. She was encouraged to become a SkillsUSA officer and completed her work at the Empower Conference, where she brought back a lot of new ideas and a positive outlook."

Parents as Teachers is a free program for all families living in the Humansville district. The program serves families from prenatal until their child enters Kindergarten. Learning begins at home before children ever go to school and the PAT program helps build a strong foundation for school readiness and success!
