A+ Scholarship Program

The A+ Schools Program is administered by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education; therefore, program funding will be subject to availability of state appropriated funds and not the responsibility of the Humansville School District. • Sign a written participation agreement prior to high school graduation.
  • Be a U.S. citizen, eligible non-citizen or lawfully present in the U.S.
  • Attend a designated A+ high school for three consecutive years prior to graduation.
  • Graduate High School with a cumulative non-weighted, unrounded grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  • Average 95% cumulative attendance record for grades 9-12.
  • Perform at least 50 hours of approved, school-based, unpaid tutoring (up to 25% may include job shadowing).
  • Maintain a record of good citizenship and avoid the unlawful use of drugs and/or alcohol.
  • Beginning with the high school senior class of 2015, score proficient or advanced on the Algebra I end of course (EOC) exam.
  • The financial incentive is available only after the student has made a good faith effort to first secure all available federal financial aid through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which does not require repayment.

  • Students who qualify for A+ financial assistance must attend a public community college or career/technical school on a full-time basis.
  • Students who are enrolled in community colleges or postsecondary career/technical schools must maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA.
  • Students must complete the FAFSA each year.
  • All individuals required to register under the Military Selective Service Act must show proof of registration to be eligible for state-supported scholarships, programs for financial assistance for postsecondary education or loans insured by any state agency. This student eligibility requirement is authorized pursuant to RSMo 105.1210, 105.1213 and 105.1216 (2000)
