National Honor Society

The Humansville chapter of the National Honor Society is called the “Golden Tigers.” Membership is determined by a local Faculty Council, which consists of five faculty members who are chosen by the principal every year. In order to be considered for membership, students must be in grades 10-12 and must meet the scholarship requirement of a 3.33 GPA or higher. All students above this threshold will receive an information packet to fill out and turn in to the Faculty Council. The final step in the selection process is for the Faculty Council to review each interested student on the qualities of leadership, service, and character. A majority of at least three votes from the council is required for membership, with a final review of new members conducted by the principal. The induction ceremony for new members is held in the first quarter each fall. Members who fail to maintain a 3.33 GPA or maintain good standing may be reviewed by the Faculty Council for dismissal.
